City tackles signs, banners
Davenport City Council members discuss a proposal Wednesday, Sept. 10, to hang senior banners in the city. Four residents told the council they would raise funds and coordinate volunteers for the project.
DAVENPORT - City Council members worked through a packed agenda Wednesday, Sept. 10, addressing community signage, senior banners, alley vacations and funding requests from local groups.
Carolyn and 3C Creations and Expressions presented a solution for the east sign problem. Later, four women approached the council about hanging senior banners this year, saying they would raise money to cover costs and recruit volunteers to hang them.
"We'll first ask parents to pay, and if there are children not covered, we'll reevaluate," one of the women said.
