DAVENPORT - The varsity Gorillas girls volleyball team swept the St. George's Dragons in three sets on Tuesday, showcasing dominant play in their home opener. The Gorillas won 25-16, 25-10, and 25-13, fueled by strong serving and defensive efforts before a lively home crowd.
Senior McCall Knopp led Davenport with 21 serves, three aces, one kill, and two blocks. Senior Astraya Sosa contributed 11 serves, three aces, and 17 saves, while senior Faith Bell added 10 serves, one ace, two digs, 14 saves, and three kills.
