Two brothers face assault charges

DAVENPORT — Two local brothers are facing identical second-degree assault charges following an incident at their 12th Street residence last month.

Michael Jake Gatewood, 43, and Christopher Ray Gatewood, 45, both of Davenport, appeared in Lincoln County Superior Court Tuesday, Oct. 21. Each entered a not-guilty plea.

According to court records, on Sept. 28, police responded after Crystal L. Cantu reported that her 13-year-old son had been assaulted by his father and uncle at the Gatewoods’ home.
