DAVENPORT - The Davenport Gorillas fell 52-40 to the Columbia-Hunters Lions during their homecoming game Friday, Oct. 17, at Hering Field.
The Lions took an early 6-0 lead before Davenport tied it in the second quarter. Columbia-Hunters led 28-20 at halftime and broke away in the third quarter with key turnovers, extending their lead to 52-32. The Gorillas rallied late with touchdowns from Titus Lathrop and a Bennett Wagner-to-Shane Stiles pass, but an interception ended the comeback.
