Ballot returns lag ahead of election

County urges early submission

DAVENPORT — With the Tuesday, Nov. 4 General Election less than a week away, the Lincoln County Elections Office is reporting slower-than-usual ballot returns.

As of Tuesday, Oct. 28, the county had received ballots from 14.8% of registered voters, with another 300 ballots expected to bring that number to about 18.2%. Of those received, approximately 98.9% have been accepted, according to Lincoln County elections manager Norm Caley.

Caley reported that the elections office has received 1,313 ballots as of Tuesday, Oct. 28, with just over 300 to be picked up later.
