Gorillas extend winning streak to 6
DAVENPORT – The Gorillas soccer team added two more wins to its streak, making it six straight as they prepare for a key matchup with Freeman on Wednesday, Oct. 30, to determine 2B state tournament seeding.
Davenport (14-1) topped Northwest Christian 3-1 on Oct. 23 and rolled past Upper Columbia Academy 6-1 on Oct. 28.
The win over Northwest Christian proved crucial, with both teams battling for the top spot in the NE2B league — Davenport entered 12-1 and NWC 10-1. Senior Glenna Soliday opened scoring with a long shot that slipped past NWC goalkeeper Abbie Strandy.
