Davenport advances to Day 2 of state
The Gorilla girls celebrate their game winning point against the Kittitas Coyotes.
YAKIMA - It's tough to come back from a state-opening loss. But the Gorilla girls volleyball team did just that, and in dominating fashion.
Davenport swept Kittitas in 3 sets, sending the Kittitas Coyotes home on Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 12.
Set scores were 25-16, 25-17, 25-19.
Meanwhile, the Gorillas survive until Day 2 in the state 2B volleyball tournament, with aspirations for a trophy.
"I hate that they put us in the situation of do or die, but man, when the pressure is on, they do a whole lot better," Davenport Coach Jill Morrison said of the late afternoon win.
