Few ballots remain as some races stay tight
DAVENPORT — With certification set for Tuesday, Nov. 25, Lincoln County Elections officials say the outcome of Davenport’s razor-thin mayoral race is unlikely to change — even as a few ballots trickle in for final verification.
Challenger Brad Sweet currently leads incumbent Mayor Jonathan Chapman by just 15 votes. According to Elections Manager Norm Caley, only 42 ballots remain countywide, including a few awaiting “signature cures,” where voters forgot to sign their ballot envelopes.
