YAKIMA - The No. 13-seeded Davenport Gorillas claimed seventh place at the WIAA Class 1B state volleyball tournament Thursday, Nov. 13, sweeping No. 15-seeded River View 25-12, 25-21, 25-16 in the seventh/eighth-place match at the Yakima Valley SunDome.
Davenport (18-6) never trailed in the first set and pulled away late in the second and third sets to secure the straight-set victory and the seventh-place trophy on Day 2 of the tournament.
