DAVENPORT - The Gorillas swept a nonleague basketball doubleheader Friday night, holding off late charges from visiting Lind-Ritzville/Sprague in both varsity games.
In the girls contest, Davenport defeated Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 57-53.
The Gorillas raced to a 24-13 lead after one quarter and were tied 33-33 at halftime. Lind-Ritzville/Sprague carried a 48-44 edge into the fourth before Davenport closed on a 13-5 run.
