Senior earns full Columbia scholarship

ODESSA - A 2026 Odessa High School senior was selected from a national pool of more than 25,000 applicants and matched with her second-choice university for a full four-year scholarship.

Kieu Tran, 17, of Odessa, learned she had been awarded the scholarship on Monday, Dec. 1, through the QuestBridge National College Match program.

"I was really surprised and excited because I didn't think I would get it," Tran said.

QuestBridge initially selects about 7,000 finalists from tens of thousands of applicants nationwide.
