ODESSA - A furious fourth-quarter surge propelled the Odessa boys basketball team to a narrow victory Monday night.
The Tigers outscored visiting Soap Lake 21-18 in the final period to overcome a tie and win 47-44.
Odessa trailed 19-16 at halftime and was tied 26-26 entering the fourth quarter.
"We blocked out, we rebounded, and made some buckets in the second half," Odessa coach Deric Schmierer said. "I think that was it. We played a little bit better defense."
