Sweet, Council takes office early
Brad Sweet takes the oath of office on Wednesday, Dec. 24, as he assumes the mayoral position for the city of Davenport.
DAVENPORT - Davenport officials swore in Mayor Brad Sweet and four City Council members ahead of the new year, with Sweet officially taking over as mayor as Jonathan Chapman departs the position.
Sweet was sworn in Wednesday, Dec. 24, ahead of a planned absence later this week, city officials said. Four council members - Chris Stein, Patrick Katz, Mike Strite and Lance Strite, were sworn in at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 30.
