Dec. 28

Traffic Stops: 13

12:11 p.m. — A man called stating he wanted to return to his sister’s home on Crescent Road North, but she said he could only come with a police escort, as she does not want him there.

4:05 p.m. — A mother reported that her 9-year-old daughter called asking to be picked up from her father’s house in Reardan, but he said the mother was not welcome to come.

5:48 p.m. — A person reported hearing an explosion-like sound coming from a white SUV.

9:14 p.m. — Lockout assistance was requested for a 1995 Silverado 2500 at 12th Street in Davenport.

7:44 a.m. — Lockout assistance requested at Traders.

9:07 a.m. — At about 7 a.m., a caller reported seeing a dark green Honda Accord parked about a half mile in on Twin Lake BLM land while coyote hunting. The caller said a person, possibly a female, was lying down in the front passenger seat. The vehicle was there when the caller arrived and still there when he left. The caller did not feel safe making contact and requested a deputy check on the person.

9:17 a.m. — A woman called requesting a ride to Spokane.

9:48 a.m. — A caller reported someone on her property near her vehicles on E. Railroad Avenue. She received an alert from her game camera but could not see anyone. The caller was in Spokane and requested a deputy check the property until she or her father arrived.

10:01 a.m. — An abandoned green blazer was reported to be parked in front of Century Link on 9th street.

10:15 a.m. — A man reported ongoing issues with a neighbor on Maxwell, including repeated verbal harassment. He said the neighbor has yelled at his wife, called her names, and verbally assaulted her at her Dollar Store workplace.

1:56 p.m. — A woman reported a verbal argument with her husband that escalated into a physical assault, including him punching her arm, spraying her with water, shoving her, pinning her on a couch, and briefly strangling her. The assault stopped when her brother intervened, and another brother later picked her up; she was at a residence on N. Waukon Road at the time of the report.

2:06 p.m. — A sheriff’s deputy received a Flock system hit on a stolen vehicle at Broadway and Elm while it was westbound.

2:25 p.m. — A State DOT employee dropped off a passport that was found at the I-90 rest area in Sprague.

3:49 p.m. — A woman reported that her neighbors had hacked her phone, internet, and television again.

6:34 p.m. — A man reported that someone placed an explosive in his mailbox overnight. He said the mailbox was sturdy enough to prevent it from detonating but it still caused some damage.

8:50 a.m. — A woman reported that someone cracked a window at the Peak Fitness building and her insurance company advised her to file a report.

10:49 a.m. — A Spokane County deputy requested LCSO check an address for a man with a felony warrant for third-degree child molestation.

2:16 p.m. — Washington State Patrol responded to a DUI.

8:44 p.m. — A man called 911 to report seeing young men doing burnouts and throwing rocks in the Safeway parking lot. He followed them to a residence at 12th and Washington, where they had a bonfire, and confronted them while on the phone with dispatch, warning them he had called the police.

9:49 p.m. — A house fire was reported at a home in Almira.

8:21 a.m. — A woman requested a welfare check on her sister on Hawk Creek Ranch Road N.

10:55 a.m. — A man was contacted at his residence regarding complaints about loud music, honking horns, and vehicle headlights shining into traffic and nearby homes on Washington Street. He said he would speak with his friends to reduce the disturbances, was unsure about the loud music, acknowledged hearing the burnouts in the Safeway parking lot, and expressed frustration over the situation.

12:07 p.m. — A New Alliance employee reported a possibly intoxicated elderly man in a maroon pickup in their parking lot.

3:30 p.m. — A person reported an illegal burn at E. 2nd Avenue, with the suspect unknown.

6:54 p.m. — A man requested a deputy check on two children, around 11–12 years old, at a laundromat on E. 2nd Avenue. He said the children tried to do a load of laundry by themselves, which he found odd, and noted that one had blonde hair and the other had brown hair.

12:51 p.m. — A man called 911 to report that he and his brother found a small amount of blood on leaves under a bridge. There were no signs of injury or people present, and photos were added to the case.

5:31 p.m. — A woman reported that a person emailed her attorney at 3:38 p.m. She stated there is an active protection order out of Snohomish County, and the email is believed to be a possible violation of that order.

12:11 a.m. — A Flock system hit for a vehicle was reported just off I-90 at Grove Road in Spokane County at 11:15 p.m. A silver Nissan Versa with many stickers (plate CNX9559) was involved; the reporting party stated the driver was overdue at Spokane Airport coming from Moses Lake, and her phone goes straight to voicemail. L32 was advised.

9:03 a.m. — Reports came in of a vehicle that crashed into the Harrington Opera House.

11:31 a.m. — A person reported a short-haired brown/tan boxer mix acting aggressively while loose, approaching people with raised hair and barking. The dog’s owner on Logan Street was contacted and agreed to secure the dog; he was advised he could be cited for a dog at large and stated the dog is normally friendly.

1:12 p.m. — A woman reported receiving a text that said “F--- you” along with a picture of the sender. She requested contact from a deputy; a check of the number returned no results.

1:36 p.m. — A one-vehicle rollover car crash was reported.

2:56 p.m. — A person came to the sheriff’s office to report the theft of a cashier’s check for $657. The check was sent from the Reardan Post Office, went missing between December 12–15, and was cashed on December 15, possibly via ATM deposit; a bank receipt and a missing mail form from the post office were attached.

5:23 p.m. — A woman reported hearing a loud bang or explosion that shook her house at 5:17 p.m. She stated the sound came from behind her house, north of the railroad tracks.

5:42 p.m. — A man reported hitting a deer, which was still alive.

9:40 p.m. — A person reported someone walking around outside their house and attempting to access the gate.

9:55 p.m. — A person reported an abandoned mid-1990s white single-cab long-box Dodge in a ditch about a mile toward Hawk Creek on Telford, on the left side of the road. No plates were visible, and a car or utility trailer was reportedly near the vehicle.

4:14 p.m. — A man reported that a Pit Bull–Mastiff dog was preventing him from getting out of his car.

1:00 p.m. — A man reported finding a husky on his porch and had photos of it.

1:42 p.m. — A woman reported a suspicious vehicle parked near the alley by her house with front-end damage and broken windows.

1:51 p.m. — A man called 911 to report hearing someone moving and coughing inside his motorhome while he was at a storage area near 1st and B Street by the railroad tracks.

7:55 p.m. — A caller requested a deputy respond to a woman in distress standing on the side of the road about a mile or two east of Wilbur on SR-2.

JAIL BOOKINGS

James Albert Hilkey, 46, of Kettle Falls, was arrested by the Stevens County Sheriff’s Office.

Zeth William Swagner, 28,, of Davenport, was arrested by LCSO for assault-2.

Emilio Jesus Villanueva, 28, of Spokane, was arrested by the Department of Corrections for a DOC detainer.
