It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Beverly (Bev) Strate on Dec. 5, 2025 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. Bev was born in Spokane, Wash. on Nov. 10, 1949 to Lumarion (Luby) and Lenore (Pete) Jurgensen. Her father relocated to Davenport when Bev was around 10. She attended Davenport High School, graduating in 1968. Bev loved being a Davenport Gorilla – she was chosen as Miss Davenport and was very active in the school.
