Davenport sophomore Daman Gale pins Ephrata sophomore Porter Long for an 8-0 victory in their second-round match at the Banks Lake Brawl on Saturday, Jan. 3.
DAVENPORT - On a frigid, snow-swept night, the Davenport Gorillas wasted little time dominating the mat, using lightning-quick pins and a string of forfeits to roll to a 53-18 victory over the visiting Jenkins Cougars in a boys wrestling dual Jan. 7.
Davenport earned pins from Lincoln Holmberg (106 pounds) in 1:03 over Taysen Stauffer, and Parker Bundy (120) in 0:58 over Jamason Erickson.
The Gorillas also secured technical falls from Daman Gale (144) 19-4 in 1:20 over A. Traaen and Malachi Hoff (144) 16-1 in 1:12 over Blaine Gibson-Gothmann.
