Reardan boys win Christmas tournament

REARDAN - The Screaming Eagles' boys basketball team defeated Bonners Ferry 75-53 to win the 79th annual Reardan Lions Club Christmas Tournament on Dec. 30.

In the opening minutes, Reardan's top scorers, Justin Vaughn, Maveric Sobotta and Fred Frolov, made a strong statement. Bonners Ferry quickly realized that if they wanted to stay competitive, they would have to shut them down. The Badgers couldn't do it. In the first quarter, Vaughn hit two long bombs, and Sobotta and Frolov each scored three buckets to put 18 points on the scoreboard compared to Bonners Ferry's eight points.
