ODESSA - The Chesterton Academy Knights built a steady lead and held off a brief Odessa rally to secure a 40-31 nonleague girls basketball win Tuesday night at Odessa.
Quarter-by-quarter scoring showed Chesterton taking control gradually: The Knights led 7-4 after the first quarter, 21-16 at halftime and 32-25 heading into the fourth before closing out the game.
Knights coach Amber Hartman praised her team's balanced effort.
