As a sports and recreation reporter for the Lincoln County Record-Times, I often share stories from the field. Today, I want to offer a personal note rooted in my heritage.

My Bilodeaux family traces its Acadian roots to Île d’Orléans in the St. Lawrence River of Quebec, where ancestors settled as early as 1656. Generations of Bilodeaus have been known for their skills in fishing and hunting.
