Deputies stop high-speed pursuit

WILBUR — What began as a routine traffic stop on a rural highway escalated into a high-speed pursuit and a dangerous confrontation that ended with a driver hospitalized and an active criminal investigation underway.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate an incident that unfolded Tuesday, Jan. 28, involving a fleeing vehicle, spike strips and a standoff with an armed driver.
