DAVENPORT - The Gorillas boys basketball team closed out its home schedule with a dominant victory over the Newport Grizzlies on Tuesday night in Davenport.
The Gorillas built a commanding lead early and never looked back, outscoring Newport in every quarter en route to a 70-31 win. Davenport led 10-8 after the first quarter, extended the margin to 44-18 by halftime, and took a 60-25 advantage into the fourth before finishing strong.
