Rebounding woes and turnovers spelled trouble for the Davenport Gorillas as they fell 54-38 to Northwest Christian in the District 6 NE2B semi finals on Feb. 18.
Davenport struggled early, only scoring four points in the first six minutes.
Down 10-4, Gorillas' Head Coach Dusty Oestreich was forced to call a timeout with 2:17 left in the quarter. His team, especially senior guard Glenna Soliday, woke up following the break.
Soliday hit two threes on her way to an 8-point run. However, the Crusaders still held a 17-12 lead at the end of the first.
