CHENEY - From the opening tip, Davenport made it clear Friday night it was ready for the state tournament stage.
Glenna Soliday poured in a game high 24 points as the Gorillas powered past Mabton 72–39 in the opening round of the 2B Girls State Basketball Tournament on Feb. 27 at Cheney High School. The convincing win sends Davenport into a quarterfinal matchup with Mount Vernon Christian on Wednesday, March 4, at the Spokane Arena.
Experience and size were firmly on Davenport's side. The Gorillas entered the game with five seniors on the roster and four players standing taller than 5 foot 7....
