CHENEY - Cle Elum–Roslyn edged Reardan 67–56 in the opening round of the 2B Girls State Basketball Tournament on Friday, Feb. 27, at Cheney High School. The loss sent the Screaming Eagles into the losers' bracket, where they play Raymond–South Bend on March 4 at the Spokane Arena.
The opening-round matchup was tightly contested from the start. The teams were tied 16–16 after the first quarter and remained deadlocked at 27 apiece at halftime. Cle Elum–Roslyn carried a narrow 45–43 advantage into the fourth quarter before pulling away by outscoring Reardan 22–13 in the final period.
