Citizens deserve stronger safeguards

In the final weeks of a legislative session, it becomes easier to see the broader direction in which public policy is moving. Two recent bills passed by the Legislature illustrate a trend that should concern every Washington resident. Both expand government authority in ways that weaken important safeguards that protect citizens.
