IRBY - Campers began lining up Monday for the Desert 100, one of the Pacific Northwest's largest and longest-running off-road motorcycle endurance events, with organizers expecting crowds of at least 8,000 this year.
Desert 100 Chairman Bret Defenbaugh said the event will draw close to 1,500 racers, nearly 4,000 pit and run riders across Friday and Saturday, about 200 kids in youth races and roughly 50 women in the beginner ladies class. Last year the caravan of campers stretched for miles.
