DAVENPORT — Davenport softball split a tripleheader against visiting Chewelah on Friday, April 3, at Jahn Field, winning two of three games in a competitive afternoon that featured strong pitching and timely hitting from both sides.
The Gorillas took the opener 6-2, lost the second game 5-14 and claimed a hard-fought 16-15 victory in the finale. Davenport pitcher Faith Bell saw extensive work on the mound, appearing in multiple contests over the long day.
