Day use stays open through April 15
Low water levels expose the shoreline and limit boat access at Hawk Creek near the campground and boat launch. The area will close to public access starting April 16 for a major road improvement and stabilization project.
SEVEN BAYS - Hawk Creek Campground and its boat launch will close to all public access starting April 16 and remain closed through Oct. 6 for a major road improvement and stabilization project.
The full closure is necessary to protect visitors, staff and construction crews while crews rebuild the road, officials said. It could be extended through Oct. 30 if needed.
National Park Service officials were not available for comment at press time.
