Lions club hosts town clean-up event

DAVENPORT — The Lions Club is once again giving Davenport residents a free chance to clear out household junk, yard waste and bulky items that would otherwise clutter yards or end up as illegal dumps.

The annual Clean Up Days return Friday and Saturday, with Lions volunteers helping seniors and people with disabilities at their homes on April 24 and assisting at the Lincoln County Transfer Station on April 25, according to club leaders and city officials. The event, revived in 2024 after a seven-year hiatus, is paid for by the city but run entirely by Lions volunteers.
