Gorillas advance to golf districts

DEER PARK — Rainy and windy conditions couldn’t stop the Davenport/Reardan boys golf team from advancing two players through sub-districts Monday at Deer Park Golf Course.

The cut line was the lowest Coach Trenton Briney has seen, with only scores of 89 or better advancing from a 52-player field sliced in half to 26.

Mac Larmer led the Gorillas with an 83 for a top-10 finish.

“Mac started off hot with an early birdie and played really well on his front 9 shooting a one over,” Briney said. “Things cooled off on the back side but Mac continued to grind hard to pull out an 83.”
