RITZVILLE - The Odessa Tigers battled against a crowded 17-team field Saturday at the Undeberg Invitational, securing several standout finishes against stiff competition from around the region.
Colfax claimed the boys team title with 88 points, while Odessa finished 15th with 18. Brewster dominated the girls meet, scoring 132 points, as the Tigers locked up an eighth-place showing with 44 points.
Odessa's girls were paced by Oceanna Reeves, who captured the high jump title by clearing 4 feet, 6 inches. Reeves also added a sixth-place finish in the 400-meter run, crossing the line in 1:09.54.
Alexis Eden delivered a strong all-around performance, placing second in the 100-meter dash in 13.60 seconds and finishing runner-up in the long jump with a leap of 15 feet, 5 inches. Eden also ran a leg on the Tigers' 4x100 relay team alongside Leah Iverson, KatieMae Williams and Jordyn Lewis, which placed sixth with a time of 55.89.
In the field events, Leah Beth Claassen earned sixth-place finishes in both throws, recording a toss of 28 feet, 5-¼ inches in the shot put and 91 feet, 11 inches in the discus.
The Odessa boys were led by Aiden Schmierer, who turned in a standout day in the hurdles. Schmierer won the 110-meter hurdles in 17.71 seconds and followed it up with a second-place finish in the 300-meter hurdles, clocking 46.65.
