Tigers split doubleheader on Senior Night

ODESSA - The Odessa Tigers honored six seniors on Senior Night Tuesday by splitting a baseball doubleheader with Curlew, winning the opener 11-9 before falling 18-8 in the nightcap.

It marked one of the first games for the Tigers under new head coach Cam Smith and assistant Zach Schafer following the sudden resignation last week of longtime coach Joe Scholmer and assistant Travis Powers, who both attended the contest.

Senior pitchers Miller Stout and Aiden Valline led Odessa in a back-and-forth Game 1. The Tigers pulled away in the sixth inning behind clutch hitting.
