Small-town family salutes veterans

HARRINGTON - A local multi-generational family traveled to Washington, D.C., last month on an Inland Northwest Honor Flight, turning years of quiet military service into a deeply emotional shared experience at the nation's memorials.
Randy Behrens, 82, a U.S. Army veteran who served in Vietnam, made the April 28-29 trip with three brothers and his son, Ryan.
Two of the brothers served as guardians; the third brother and Ryan acted as guardians for other veterans on the flight.
Randy said the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, known as "The Wall," had the most personal meaning.
