DAVENPORT — Filing week ended Friday, May 8, without a candidate for the Lincoln County Public Utility District No. 1 commissioner position.
It is the only position up for election this year that lacks a candidate.
Lincoln County Elections Administrator Norm Caley said a special filing period for the seat will be Aug. 11-13. If no one files then, utility commissioners will appoint someone to fill the position.
The county considers the seat lapsed once the special filing period ends, Caley said. But state law allows the existing board to appoint a commissioner....
