Odessa track athletes qualify for districts

VALLEY CHRISTIAN — Odessa High School track and field athletes posted several standout performances and earned multiple district berths at the NE 1B Sub-District Qualifier Tuesday, May 12, at Valley Christian School.

Landon McMillan led the boys with a first-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles in 16.17 seconds (personal best). He also won the 100-meter dash in 12.13 (PB), took second in the long jump (19-6.5) and second in the triple jump (41-0 PB). Aiden Schmierer placed second in both hurdle events — 17.64 in the 110 hurdles and 45.22 in the 300 hurdles — and ninth in the 200 (26.19 PB). I...
