Despite rain, Harrington celebrates cars

HARRINGTON - Despite on-and-off rain that sent some cars home early, the 14th annual Memorial Harrington Car Show drew crowds downtown Saturday, May 16.

This year's event was dedicated to memory of founder Allen Jay Barth.

Jill Barth, the event coordinator and Barth's daughter, said her father started the show 14 years ago with the Harrington Chamber of Commerce to bring more people to town during yard-sale days.

After he died in 2017, she took over and turned it into an official memorial.

"I think he'd be super excited," Barth said. "It's growing, so any money we make goes back into it."
