DAVENPORT - After two decades of creative play, structure and boundless enthusiasm, A long time Davenport teacher is retiring from Growing Gorillas Co-op Preschool.
Scott Hopkins, 57, of Davenport, began as a parent helper at the co-op and stepped into the full-time teaching role 20 years ago. A history graduate from Washington State University with a background coaching sports, he became the heart of the program.
Hopkins said the co-op model - with parents actively involved in the classroom - was a perfect fit.
