Suspected water theft reported

DAVENPORT — Two unknown people were seen filling multiple 5-gallon buckets with water from a community garden spigot, prompting a suspicious-circumstances report to deputies, according to Lincoln County sheriff’s office records.

Barbara Jean Robinson told authorities she observed the incident at the garden near 5th and Merriam streets about 3:51 p.m. May 13. She submitted an online form with photos showing the suspects loading four buckets from the public water source, the records state.
