Grain in the Odessa area has seldom looked better than it does this year. It is starting to get dry and a rain would definitely help the crops.

Lawrence Leask a farm hand on the John Nichols farm just southeast of Davenport was killed by a lightning strike during a storm. One of Leask’s shoes was missing as well as his watch.
