Odessa remembers fallen veterans

ODESSA - Community members gathered at the Odessa Cemetery on Memorial Day to pay tribute to area veterans who lost their lives serving in the armed forces.

Mike Hardung and Bob Martin placed the wreath during the observance. Pastor Travis Powers delivered a prayer and shared a message.

A three-gun salute was performed by Gerald "Seth" Smith, Tony Quilici and Ryan Scrupps. Scrupps also played Taps.

The "Odessa Roll of Honor" mural at the local Veterans of Foreign Wars post lists dozens of local men and women who served in the U.S. Army, Navy and Marines during World War II.
