Residents access care at health fair

DAVENPORT — A free community health fair in Pioneer Plaza on Wednesday, June 3, gave residents a one-stop opportunity to connect with health care, transportation, disability support and other services.

Organizer Lisa Hoover of Rural Resources Community Action said the goal was to meet people where they are and help them navigate complex systems.

“Our hope is that when people come in, they’re able to get connected,” Hoover said. “We had free produce out today so they could get some food, people answering questions and just connecting them to services they might not be aware of.”
