Lake Roosevelt to host event at day-use area
FORT SPOKANE — Families and new anglers looking for an easy introduction to fishing can reel one in this weekend at the Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area Fish Fest.
The free event is scheduled for noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 6, at the Fort Spokane Day Use Area. It coincides with the state Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Free Fishing Weekend, when anglers can fish without a license for select species.
Fish and Wildlife spokeswoman Staci Lehman said the event provides a low-pressure entry into the sport.
