Harrington honors reading volunteers

HARRINGTON –- Harrington Elementary School celebrated its inaugural “Harrington Literacy Leaders” volunteers Tuesday, June 9, during a gathering at the Post & Office.

Launched this school year, the program brought eight community volunteers into classrooms weekly to read with students in kindergarten through third grade.

Superintendent Courtney Strozyk praised the group’s dedication to boosting reading efforts.

Community volunteers are Nancy Timm, LaMarr and Susan Larmer, Wendy Fisk, Jim Wilcox, Tony Hamilton, Michael Cronrath and Kathy Hoob.
