Cryptocurrency scam reported

DAVENPORT — A resident reported losing approximately $1,600 in a cryptocurrency scam after being contacted by individuals posing as Microsoft support.

Sean Engman reported that scammers contacted him claiming his email had been hacked and convinced him to transfer money to a MoonPay cryptocurrency account, Lincoln County Sheriff's Office records show. He was then instructed to move the funds to an external wallet controlled by the scammers, who subsequently withdrew the money. The scam occurred over several days....
