The Luther brothers of Spokane have leased the Highway Garage from John Luiten and will take over on July 4th. Both men are experienced mechanics and will run the service station as partners.

The home of the A. W. Buchanan family, a mile north of Mondovi was destroyed by a fire of unknown origin. Mrs. Buchanan was the only one home at the time and escaped right before the roof fell caved in.

Harrington town Marshall arrested 15 year old Herbert Stone who had escaped from a juvenile detention center in Wenatchee. Stone was being detained for stealing an automobile.
