DAVENPORT - Lincoln County commissioners voted Monday, Aug. 3, to terminate a longstanding contract with New York Life Insurance Co. that allowed payroll deductions for employee life insurance policies.
Agent Weston Schroeder appeared before the board seeking an updated employee census so he could offer guaranteed-issue permanent life insurance through the county. Under that arrangement, employees and eligible family members could purchase coverage with no medical underwriting.
But county staff recommended against a new contract.
