Equipment grant window opens Sept. 4

DAVENPORT — Farmers can apply next month for grants reimbursing up to 85% of the cost of climate-smart equipment.

The Climate Smart Farm Equipment Grant opens for applications at 8 a.m. Sept. 4. The window closes at 5 p.m. Oct. 19.

The program reimburses commercial farms for a portion of eligible equipment and delivery costs that reduce greenhouse gas emissions or improve soil and water quality.

The standard rate is 75% of costs, up to $200,000 per farm.
