Town weighs recycling bin

REARDAN — The Town Council is considering a cardboard recycling container after residents and staff noted growing demand and a healthy garbage fund balance.

Staff reported during the Aug. 6 council meeting that the Davenport transfer station can supply a bin for $175 per haul plus tonnage. Harrington’s similar program costs roughly $3,400 a year.

Council members directed staff to bring the interlocal agreement for review at a future meeting.
