Juvenile crime rate increasing

DAVENPORT — Juvenile crime is on the rise.

Lincoln County’s juvenile criminal supervision caseload reached its highest level in 5-6 years, Juvenile Services Director and Coroner Ashley Smith told county commissioners during a meeting Monday, Aug. 17. Smith reported 16 children currently being supervision.

The rise includes more malicious-mischief cases and transfers from larger counties of youth placed with relatives in Lincoln County, she said.
