MEDICAL LAKE – A young Davenport wrestler is literally king of the sand.
Otto Medhaug, a Davenport Middle School student, won gold Saturday, Aug. 15, in the second annual Beach Throwdown in Waterfront Park.
In the sport, wrestlers score 1 point for a takedown or pushout, and 3 points for taking an opponent from feet to back. The first to score 3 points wins.
Medhaug won two bouts en route to gold in his age and weight with scores of 3-0 and 5-0....
